Rabbits are Australia’s worst invasive pest and are increasing their range and numbers again. We need your help to find and map wild rabbits anywhere in Australia, during RabbitScan Month, May 2009.
It will only take a few minutes of your time and will be a valuable and significant contribution to dealing with this threat. How? Take a walk or drive in your local area, or visit a local park, oval, farm or reserve, have a look and let us know what you find at www.rabbitscan.net.au.

I am an ex pest plant and animal facilitator. The Poowong and Nyora areas in South Gippsland have a very heavy load of rabbits. No one in the Port phillip and Western port area wish to know about it. We regulars have ferreters getting 25/30 bunnies a day. It is in hill country and they are moving from in sheds, hay stacks andweeed cover to burrows in the tunnel erosion and clay banks.
The GPS for my area is 38 2095, 145 4781. Please record our position with a big red star.
